On October 16th we took a trip to Bradford to look at some archiving and old imagery at the Media Museum. There was lots to see from Daguerreotypes to silver gelatin prints and old news imagery and journalism. Artists' work such as Fay Godwin, Martin Parr, David Hockney, and more.

While archives and old media isn't something I am hugely interested in, it was still a good experience to see them in person and learn about particular pieces from the experts that worked there. It was interesting to see old inscriptions on the backs of pieces and the dates on them to put into perspective how old photography really is. After the session we also explored the Media Museum itself and re-visited exhibits such as historic cameras and cyanotypes.

After exploring the Media Museum, we went on to visit the Loading Bay where there were activities to engage in and exhibitions to see. We were able to design and draw on pairs of sunglasses to customise them and leave them on the wall, there were also a selection of masks which was a fun experience to try on and take pictures with. Additionally, there were paper bags with faces painted on and eye-holes which were also fun to take pictures with. The work there was very interesting, from sculptures to collages and paintings, I enjoyed exploring the space.

I was also able to take a few photos of Bradford as we explored during the day. I enjoy going to Bradford and the architecture and street art there is always cool to see and capture.
