For this experiment, we were given the brief of 'extraordinary in the ordinary', the project in which the first years are working on. After a talk with Jason Plews - a multi-talented photographer who gave a talk on his journey and work - we went on to do a photoshoot under this brief. Ebby and I worked together to do this, they had a large safety pin which we used as a prop and a nod to the theme. We explored the effect it had when photographed next to a mirror which turned out well - giving us an almost double exposed finish. We didn't have much time for this shoot as it was a quick workshop experiment however, it was fun and interesting to work under a different theme briefly and experiment with new ideas.

We were also able to talk to Plews after the workshop as a HNC/HND group and individually explore each of our styles and talk about future careers. He led with the message that fitting yourself into a specific genre is not necessary and that its beneficial to remain open and explore which is something I like to do while simultaneously continuing with my specific visual styles. We also talked about how I could get my work out there and seen by more people in which he suggested the idea of galleries and applying to have my work put up and in publishing too. We then explored the book I made and he suggested I have it available online which is when I uploaded said PDF to my website as I thought it was a good idea.

I enjoyed getting to talk to Plews and see his work and have him give advice on photography as a career, it was interesting to hear from someone who has been doing it for fairly long and to hear what lessons he had learned and advice he was able to give.
